Bully
03:35
|
|||
you never really thought that you'd end up that way
what you gonna do now
what you gonna do?
Xi puts it on
her second face
it's like a light
that makes you want to run away
Xi knows the streets
but she's alone
Xi Xi Xi
was bullied in school
now Xi’s become one too
Xi knows a song
a nursery rhyme
Xi says violence
is a friend of mine
Xi’s not looking for things
that Xi can't find
a bully that bullies was bullied and bullies again
Xi Xi Xi
was bullied in school
now Xi’s become one too
show me a tryant who was loved as a kid
and I'll throw up my arms and follow him
Xi Xi Xi
was bullied in school
now Xi’s become one too
you never really thought that you'd end up that way
what you gonna do now
what you gonna do?

These Days
03:06
|
|||
(Written by Jackson Brown)
I’ve been out walking
I don’t do too much talking these days
these days
these days I seem to think a lot
about the things that I forgot to do
and all the times I've had the chance to
I’ve stopped my rambling
I don't do too much gambling these days
these days
these days I seem to think about
how all these changes came about my ways
and I wonder if I’ll see
another highway
I had a lover
I don’t think I’d risk another these days
these days
and if I seem to be afraid to live the life
that I have made in song
it’s just that I’ve been losing so long
I’ve stopped my dreaming
I don't do too much scheming these days
these days
these days I sit on cornerstones
and count the time in quarter tones to ten
and please don't confront me with my failures
I have not forgotten them

Blasphemy
03:13
|
|||
secrets plotting their escape
packed a punch or two
on their way they shot a dove
broke its’ birdhouse too
I cowered
in silence
surprised you
capsized you
I stood bye
and watched you
set fire
to the place that we belong
everybody came to stare
hungry flames quickly consumed
and then left us standing there
let’s drown in the afternoon sunbeams and
plant some anarchy
fall into the chorus of fa la la
and hold a eulogy
let’s shower the neighbourhood bars with
blasphemy
and take our feral hearts
and bury them
and take our tainted thoughts
and murder them
desire, conspired
to shake us
forsake us
you faced it,
embraced it
and took us
to the place that we belong
everybody came to stare
thunder cracked the sky above
lightening showed us what was there
whispers turned the night to dawn
as the silence turned to prayer
thunder cracked the sky above
lightning showed us what was there
sent a secret to the place
where the devil wouldn’t care
thunder cracked the sky above
lightning showed us what was there

Silent Side
03:44
|
|||
dancing, slowly in the corner
with my inner maniac
two steps forward and three back
moving, counter to the rhythm
laid out in my master plan
I find myself a cowered man
shooting blanks at old tin cans
tried to sing a bird song
but I got the words wrong
so I just hummed along instead
walked up to the front line
looked at all the landmines
still can't get you out of my head
now I'm standing on the silent side
of what I really want to say
dusting, off my indecisions
and my verbal artifacts
are getting ready to attack
what you've got is what you'll have
tried to sing a bird song
but I got the words wrong
so I just hummed along instead
walked up to the front line
looked at all the landmines
still can't get you out of my head
now I'm standing on the silent side
of what I really want to say

Kliffs Berlin, Germany
Kliffs write recycled tone poems for the perpetually bemused, and pop songs for shy dancers. They channel the quiet of early morning sun rays tickling cloud banks and mix it up with songs better suited to late-night inner city bicycle rides.
