Dear friends,

The new single from KLIFFS, titled “Undertow”, deals with the aftermath of a loved one’s suicide. That unexpected, heart-breaking, and often anger-inducing event is captured delicately and powerfully in the juxtaposition of a bouyant melody and arrangement, reminiscent of some of the more celebratory moments in Andrew Bird’s or Sufjan Steven’s songs, with the Cohen-esque exploration of the darker corners of loss. The song is a testament to the idea that the only thing left to express, after the pain and suffering that follow loss, is the love, understanding and candor you wish you’d had the chance to give again.
